i have a 98 civic dx Alright my ecu is messed up. i boorrow a friend of mines ecu works fine no check engine lights

so i bought one from a dude on clubek.net but when i recieved the ecu today i put the ecu in and started the car. It idled a like 500 rpms rough and fluctuating. and the cell came on imediatly
i put my friends ecu in same model worked fine

My ecu was made sept. 10th 1998

my friends was made september 98.

the ecu i bought was made feb 23rd 98

think it makes a difference?

or is the ecu ****?

I know that 96-98 and 99-00 ecus are different .
let me know asap thanks

 

have you tried putting youre new ecu into your friends car?

the dates shouldnt make any difference - both are running identical programs

 

no my friends car has a turbo ls/vtec. i was using his stock ecu. So im guessing the ecu is screwed because his works fine. Mine still throws the cel for rear o2 sensor(mine is fried) but still idles fine

the one i bought idles shitty and throws a code

the ecu threw a code 15 ignition output signal any ideas?
i needed an ecu because mine would shut off the rear o2 sesnor cel this one does shut off the rear o2 sensor but throws a code 15. my friends eci dont throw a code any ideas?
