Default Oxygen sensor question

My check engine light came on in my 2000 Integra LS (57K miles) so I went to AutoZone to get the code pulled. The code is (P0141) which is “Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S) (Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Malfunction”. My question is what exactly does this mean. Can I simply replace the oxygen sensor and if so which one.

Yes, you can simply replace the sensor. You're going to need to get an o2 sensor wrench (most likely) and a new sensor. Its the downstream one, after the cat.

I just double checked. You just need a 22mm wrench (box-head/open end... whatever you call it).

I would order it online, you can get NGK replacements for about $100. I bought mine from thepartsbin w/free shipping and it came in like 1 or 2 days.

Unplug the sensor. Find the 2 same-color wires to the sensor. Measure resistance between them, it should be between 10 & 40 ohms. Neither one of these wires should have continuity to ground.

Most likely it'll fail one of these checks, so then replace the sensor. If those checks are OK, then the problem is with the car's wiring & a new sensor won't fix it.
