Best flywheel clutch combo
I have decided on the ACT extreme clutch kit... HA3-XTSS
But in terms of flywheel choices im not sure what to go with... Ive heard alot of positive & negatives with the various flywheels... What is the best flywheel to go with? I was looking into Fidanza what are some other good flywheels for 5th gen prelude?

http://www.inlinefour.com for the JUN one... two different weights available.
I personally like the Clutchmasters flywheel. It uses a stock ring gear and has a replacable friction plate. There is a groupbuy going on at www.groupbuycenter.com right now. Cheaper than when I bought mine.

I would honestly go with the following, this is what I have!
Fidanza Flywheel & ACT HA3XTSS Clutch Kit
This kit is very streetable, and Grabs HARD, you'll be able to break 3rd gear!

any other suggestions... btw how are those jun flywheels? the only reason i am staying away from the fidanza flywheel is because of how light it is 8lbs... I dont think a flywheel this light would work to well if i were to go FI... The jun fw weighs 12lbs which sounds more appealing for FI... Any suggestions/comments are welcome.
Unorthodox Racing. Aluminum Flywheel. They were 9lb's when I got mine, but they've up'd it to 10 now. Not a single moments complaint and nothing but good things from that company on any of my parts. (Flywheel and cam gears are on... pulleys aren't installed yet.)

I would go with an EXEDY clutch.I would do a search on flywheels though.Aluminum is light but how durable is it under extreme situations.Chrom-moly is a lot stronger.I know EXEDY does not make that application but does JUN or anybody make a Chrom-moly flywheel? I got a EXEDY Organic but did not replace my flywheel yet.Waiting to find a chrom-moly.
Weither you are running FI or NA a light weight flywheel will help. Whatever flywheel you choose, make sure it uses a stock ring gear and has a replaceable friction plate. To me HP is money, and I don't know about you, but I don't have a tree that grows it. So, find a flywheel that meets the above and get the cheapest price for it. The weight thing can be summed up on way, less weight on the rotating mass, less HP used by the motor, for any application!

Sorry, but the EXEDY is the BEST unit on the market! Check out the HOTSHEET @ http://www.coximport.com As far as the REBUILDS go, ACT is the best, CM, CF, CN are the WORST. I have seen many problems with these units! All they do is take a new stock unit, build up the clamp load, paint/powercoat it, and ship it. They are pretty, but not safe under high rpms!

Well...I just bought an 8 pound fidanza flywheel and a 6 puck act with heavy duty pressure plate....it is being installed tomorrow so ill let you know
Sorry dude, May I suggest a shattershield
You have a rebuilt stock unit, and an aluminum flywheel. Not to mention that 6 puck is going to beat up your driveline

I finally got my car back yesterday; dropped in an ACT Xtreme PP w/ SS disc, Fidanza 8lber, and a Quaife LSD... and damn it grabs HARD! i must say that my left ankle is getting a work out, but i'll get used to it... unfortunately i won't be able to tell you what it can really do until i complete the break-in period (when i'll probably begin to break my axles)...
question: the Quaife LSD is definitely heavier than the OEM differential... so is the Quaife is going to increase the rotating mass? what i'm thinking is that i decreased the rotating mass on the flywheel, but increased the mass on the diff, so i'm pretty much back to where i'm started... is this true?

My suggestion from experience is Exedy Organic clutch and JUN lightweight (or ultra lightweight) flywheel. For the Exedy clutch, it's not re-built, it grabs real good, and the pressure plate isn't too stiff so the pedal feel is very similar to stock. And for the JUN flywheel, it's a chromoly flywheel, good quality, stronger than aluminum (aluminum flywheels tend to warp easier than chromoly). I've also heard about the starter problem on JUN flywheels, but Sun from Seattle told me that he didn't have to grind off the teeth as mentioned in the instructions from JUN, so did his friend's and they didn't experience any problem with their Preludes. I've also heard that someone with an Integra didn't grind off the teeth as well, and there's no problem.
