Default Any Point in side mouldings for the coupe?

Just ordered a 2002 Accord Coupe EX-L - The car comes in next week. But is there any reason to get the side-mouldings? The car doesn't come with it. and the way the door angles inwards from top to bottom, the mouldings may not be even the outer most point of protection. Any ideas?

They are just to prevent door dings. Instead of your whole door getting hit with someone opening their door in a parking lot, only the molding takes the contact. They do work, but its your call if u think you need them.

Default Accord with mouldings look terrible?

Are they that horrible? Actually since I've been thinking about this, I've noticed in the street, just about every car has side mouldings. Even the Camaros, BMW Z3, etc.

Perhaps honda has a good reason not to put it on? i.e. looks terrible

I've been searching high and low for photos of a coupe with mouldings. I found only 2.

They're at: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/par...8_02accord.htm

Clicking on the thumbprint photos for the mouldings and spoiler ads gives you an idea of how the side mouldings look on a car - but I'd sure like see more.

I took my moldings off my 4th gen when I got it repainted. I have a few door dings on the side of the doors now. A car looks nice without moldings but it's suppose to serve a purpose. Here are some pics of my ride.

I like the way that looks as well on the 4th and 5th gens. Should have come from the factory like that.

Did you get the side-mouldings? It looks cool without it. But yesterday I just passed by a lady who owned a '00 model. 6 weeks after buying it, she got it scratched when a shopping cart in a parking lot ran down hill and scratched her car. She wishes now she had the mouldings. Just wish I could see a coupe with it, but none of the dealers have one.

The moldings probably would not have saved her car from the shopping cart. Although it could have cut down on the damage.

I plan on removing the moldings from my 5th gen Sedan when I get it painted.
