Ok guys here's the deal:

Actually this picture is taken from the original brochure ( I do have the European market B16 CRX). The seats aren't that nice though. I'm not talking about the design: it's lovely but the seats are made from skai (imitation) leather and real leather. Honda used the skai leather for the rearside of the seats (which is no problem) but also to attach the seat (that part where you bottom goes) and wings (which should hold the driver in position)

Skai is way less strong as real leather so this starts to tear after 5 years of getting in and out the car since drivers always lean onto the wings to get out. This also causes the seat to give less support..

If you can buy a set of seats and doorpanels ask the seller if they have been refurnished and the skai leather has been replaced. If not bid less and have the seats partly refurnished..

I am buying a 1990 EF8 and it has seats like those, I think. I'd like to reupholster them in soft black leather cos they seem to be a little worn out. The back seat is nice. I understand US CRX's didnt get back seats. The seat in 'my' EF8 cannot fold down as one of the ***** is broken. Anyone know where I can get these parts? Thanks.

They look exactly like the stock Si seats only leather and have red stitching..
Unless the bolstering is slightly beefier or something.
why not just recover a set of Si in black leather and use red stitches?

 

There were some for sale on eBay last week or so. I think that the opening bid was $400 US. I dont think that they got any bids thought because shipping from the UK was going to be like $200. So for $600 you get some used leather seats, which most people thought was a rip off. You can get yours re-appolstered for like $500 in faux leather that is alot stronger than the factory leather (Skai). Just so you know they are the same as the Si seats just in leather and some improved cusioning which by know are most likely the same as the American seats. You should just get yours redone in the same leather fashion and you can get the CRX stiched in with any colour that you want so you dont have to go with red if your CRX doesnt match.

The interior looks very nice. It has a very "Tron" look, but those seats DO look pretty bitchin'!
