Difference between the 96-97 and 98-01 jdm b18c-r?
search is down, just wondering if theres any difference between the motors and trannies. i know they both share the same horsepower, torque, and comp ratio. not sure but i think theres something different with the final drive? thanks to all friendly replies!
'96-'01 shortblocks are identical, 11.0:1
'00-'01 have identical cam profiles to the CTR
'98+ trannies have revised final drive ratio (4.785 v 4.400) and first and second gear.

Difference in trannies is the final drive. 96 spec is 4.40 and 98 spec is 4.785.
The 98 spec comes with the 4-1 header with a 2.5" collector.
That's all I can recall off the top of my head.
