I Just swapped in a third Gen ZC motor in to my 93 civic dx coupe and im having trouble with the ECU everythong plugged in fine to the engin harness and then i turned the car on it idled rough and then when i popped it in gear and tried to drive it it didnt go anywhere and it the engine would not rev up when I gave it gas but after pumpin the accelartor a cople of time it began to rev so i dont know what it could be i think its the ECU its still stock DX(p06) but if anyone could help i would appreciate it. also i unplugged the ecu for a while then re connected it and when i started the car it began to smoke can anyone tell me what that was about? thanx

 

dont know a whole lot but i would say.. try to run an 88-91 civic si ecu. or the zc ecu or a 88-91 teg. ecu .. i run the teg ecu on my hatch . it runs strong.

 

89 teg.. not 88-91... sorry.. that my down syndrome kickin in .

 

did u try running the old ecu before u put in the teg ecu casu i did and it strted to smoke up so i took it out before it damaged anything else

 

it was the old DX ECU
