.. how does that happen exactly? I would expect it to either not start at all because its in gear or just stall out immediately.

And what about the ebrake?

So the starter will go without the clutch in.

its used when you want to get an auto starter on your manual car.. because when starting it you have to push the clutch in.. so this would override that

He has an alarm that has remote start, and there is a wire that tells the position of the clutch that allows the car to start. If you wire it up correctly to the alarm, then the remote start function tells the ECU that the clutch is depressed, allowing the car to start.

the clutch uses a ground switch at the top of the pedal, just jump the wires to fool the ecu that pedal is in all the time.

Ahh, I understand.

I made my car jump before... I started it when it was in 1st, when I thought I was in neutral. Needless to say, when I let off the clutch, the car scared the **** out of me.

well if the ebrake is on it shouldnt move. btu most people leave it in gear and forget about the ebrake. and depending on your gearing and whatnot it is possible for the car to start and then roll down the street until it runs into something. but i would assume youd only ever see that on a jeep or a truck, due to the low gearing. that is what happened to my friends old ford ranger. it started and drove itself up the neighbors lawn and into his brand new deck he built. so i think my buddy ended up payin for the deck to get fixed.
