Default Got into an accident last night.. what should i do?

Well long story short
I basically rear ended this Saturn
which stopped sudden to avoid accident from all those dangerous left turners. And I didn't act fast enough to hit brake and end up rear ending him. Well the light was green while he made his sudden stop but anyhow everybody says it's my fault.

I will be including some picture and tell me how bad it is..
It looks like it can be fixed but can it be also salvageable?

I probably need new A/C and maybe fender, new hood, bumper, lip, head lights (both) and many other things.

seems like the engine is fine...
should i repair? or if i can just salvage and buy it off from insurance?

well your pics don't work. also if you have good insurance they should pay for it once you pay the deductible, but if you are a cheap *** like myself you dont have collision. I got into one and now i have to fix it myself with my own money. but get those pics working, then i tell you if it is fixable.

Looks like it's totaled to me. Doesn't take long on a frame machine to total a car along with everything else.

it's impossible to tel the damage to the radiator support and possibly the frame from the pics..so best bet is to go to insurance and see what they say..good luck..and yeah basically anytime you rear end anyone..You are at fault

First off, insert pics in thread instead of links to pics, it makes it a lot easier. I am looking at the car now though.

yea its to hard to tell the damage to the car from the pics... your just going to have to wait and see what the insurance company says.... and for the rear ending they'll say it was your fault because you should of been travelling at a safe distance to give yourself enough time/room to stop in an emergency situation.... but not many people do that at all lol

if the airbags went off then it is totaled, it will cost tons of money to get them put back in, and i think it is illegal to drive without them if your car is suppose to have them. that sucks though man, hope the insurance comes through, but yes it will be looked at as your fault.

Well, insurance most PROBABLY WON'T total it. You may need some frame work though, who knows. I am saying maybe $5-7k, depending on where you get parts from. Good luck. Hopefully you didn't get a ticket, but that is probably wishful thinking.

5-7k for parts???

If you go for OEM parts, it wont cost more than 1,500. Or, if your cheap, you can get it all for like 500 bucks from some auto body wholesale place. Tons fo em online.

As for the frame, you can't tell from the pics. The insurance will deliberate on that one.

Its basically all up to you..good luck man!

well my little bent frame is costing me $300 to get unbent and $220 for a door and fender. but i would say around 2-3k from a body shop. but if it really goes up to
5-7k then it is totaled because that prolly exceeds the cars value.

the front frame is bent...

and the air bag did not deploy..
I am pretty new at honda-tech I don't know how to use the picture thread thing..
As for the car I will be getting estimate tomorrow and hopefully
it won't be so bad..

I got the car for 6.5k.. So either way I am fine with it..

Sux to be causing the accident though...

Firstly, I personally don't think that it's totalled...how fast were you going? It takes the damage to exceed to cost of the car, and insurance goes by Blue Book value. How many miles are on your car, and what year is it?

Second..how did you get it for 6500? is it salvage title or something? If it is...divide your blue book in half and go from here. In that case, yeah, you're totaled

Another EM1 down

Dont admit to fault, ever, even if you were. If you get the car fixed on insurance, plan on keeping it forever because the value is going to sink to 1/6th of what you bought it for or less. Its not that bad, but some real mending will have to be done, I would say about 2 kilobucks worth.

yeah i didn't really admit my fault yet...

better not send that ticket...

anyhow...
i got the civic from a friend who had to leave the country but
it has high mileage: 88k now..
and it was clear title when i actually bought the car
So I got a really good deal.

oh and i was going about 40mph..
dropped 30mph..and then I think I probably hit him around 10-30 mph between there...

Aint that a bitch. They have these scammers in Vegas that will actually cause you to have an accident like this, then take you for all you are worth because they suffered injuries, etc. I had this one guy do a right hand turn from the left lane and I nearly T-bone'd him. Instead I clipped his bumper and watched him wave and speed off. Luckly I had no damage, although I did leave a huge white streak on his 04' Monte Carlo hehe. Gluck Sung.

Its always a good rule of thumb to never admit fault.. However you are at fault so I dont think theres any way of getting yourself out of this one. Unless the other driver was drunk then theres no real way to talk your way out of running into the back of someone.... Now about the car.. I think its totataled... Im pretty sure it's 1/3 of the value of the car in order to total it.. I buy alot of cars at salvage auctions and I see cars that come through and im just amazed at why they would total it... Your lucky becuase the air bags didnt pop otherwise it would be totalled for sure. If i were you, id just take it to insurance and let them figure out of its totalled or not... Then buy it back for sure... looks like theres no frame damage other than the core support and if there is its very minimal and you can just toss it on the frame machine and have them pull it very easily.. I think in the end you'll make some money off this car... They wont pay you what you paid they'll pay you what blue book value is so even if you have a loan you need to pay off they'll give you like 9k im sure for it.. maybe less becuase of the miles.... good luck with it man

your sub frame is angled or maybe its just the pavement definitely looking at some fab work with a new front rad support but nothing even a little body shop cant fix...

You should buy a G35 coupe like the one next to your car in the pictures .
