errr as far as useing them for an intake, i think its stupid, if you filter is getting air from down in that area (behind the bumber infront of the wheel) its getting all the air it needs.
Now as far as useing one for brakes, i posted a link to a circle track parts website. they have various sized air ducks for around 20 bucks, just take some messurements and order the one that fits.

sorry but you're wrong, the J's air duct is made for air to get to the intake. that's why they only make it for that side. also in a civic you have no business driving through water deep enough to get in that duct.
now i know how you got that title

''now I know how you got that title''
Go retake your GED ******.
I was talking ABOUT THE BUMPER ITS SELF. Thats why theres inlets on BOTH sides. Who said driving you need deep water? My *** you don't need deep water, a rainy day or a puddle and no doubt water will get in there.

you are clearly a moron. the airducts in the stock bumper are for looks, not to cool your brakes. if they were necessary why would they sell fog lights from the factory that block those oh so important air ducts? they are primarily there for looks, the car would look stupid with nothing on the sides to level it out. also, air can not get to the brakes through those ducts if the car is in stock form due to the plastic behind it and the inner fender lining.
about the sucking up water in rain, the J's duct is designed for use with the J's intake or stock air box styled systems. those intakes use a filter which is not in the inner fender but up in the engine bay. it pulls air through the hole in the engine bay which leads to the air duct. i have yet to see a Honda motor that can pull the amount of water from rain 2 ft straight up. defying gravity, then through the filter and finally into the engine. a cold air style intake my inhale water but only when it is practically submerged, but in this case that is totally irrelevant because that is not what this is designed for.
how about you get back to me when you are even old enough to take the GED or have been a member here for at least a few months.

For looks when the **** you design the 5th Gen civic? You have no idea why they put it there, void that subject completely.

Clearly for people who want a stylish place to put there foglights brainiac.
You have no ounce of engineering in you. This is how you think : hmm air to brakes? OH no plastic plastic splashguard and dust shield in the way cancel cancel!:
Anyone who know how brakes work in stopping would know about that.
They can use those openings without a doubt.
But wait damn Honduhs dont need brake cooling Honda's are for looks too right?

Really you have the nerve to say that when it was your first reply to post with the lack of comprehension you have. Couple of months ? What that month number is that under my avatar?

MidshipCivic, just give it up man, here is a bumper for you, notice air cannot get through that side "vent"

J's racing is only made for the passenger side, leading me and everyone else but you to believe it is made for the intake. if it was for braking it would be made for both sides and sold in pairs.. correct?
no one said hondas didnt need brake ducts, but a street driven car surely doesnt. you posted a pic of SandMRacing.com one of the type R's they have made brake ducts for because they track the R. and those are tottaly custom. so none of your posts have any relevance in this subject. later.

hahaha
this is a JOKE!
those are 100% fabricated....
the grills are there not for anything specific. SOmeone was smart enough (obviously not you) to FABRICATE something to work with, in your case, the RSX.
that grill is not made for anything specific. J's was smart enough to "CREATE" a duct for their intake system.
keywords: fabricate, create....

I have a 92-95 to know that the oem bumper has no opening, but they do imitate brake ducst and anyone reguardless street car or not wanted there front brakes cooled would be able to use those openings.
This isn't a verbal chat, go up a read pls no where did I say the J's racing piece is for brakes.
Funny how this is an OEM Honda part?
