Can anyone help guide me on building a ba4 prelude for DSP
For example,
what spring rates are a good starting point?
What backspacing would be good for 13x8 wheels?
Can any adjustable shocks be modified to fit so I don't have to send $$$ to koni to build custom ones?
and any other thing that's prelude specific that I haven't noticed yet?

I'd imagine the BA4 is the G3 88-91? The only sane advice I can give you is stop what you're doing and buy another car if you want to run in DSP. The Prelude is seriously out-gunned in DSP by more competitive machinery. Stick to H-Stock or STS at most.
But if you insist, 5" inch backspacing would prolly be a good starting point. The best thing to do is to measure yourself. Measure or calculate the backspacing on your current wheels then measure how much room is left on the inside of the wheel to the suspension pieces etc. For the spring rates, do some researching on here but i'd say ballpark 500F/600R would be a mild enough start. Also, AFAIK, Koni stopped making Yellows for G3s years ago. Dunno what's available shock-wise right now but you may have to go the custom Koni 3011 route or figuring out what other shock may fit.
Anyways, good luck but think long and hard about throwing a ton of money into this car for DSP. Make a logical decision, not an emotional one.

I'm not building anything national/divisional level, just for regional level competition. I've been racing for 5 years now and I've decided that this is the direction that I wish to take for the next few years. Regional racing is just more fun right now than the other levels.
I already have a beater prelude in my possesion so why not slap some GC's on it, spend a small amount on wheels and get $100 each race tires. As of now, HS and STS is a worthless endevor around here as there are national trophy winners in both HS and STS around here. DSP is filled with people who share my mentality. Very little if any money will be thrown into this. I'm jsut looking for some better direction so that I don't have to dump more money into this than I have too by guistimating wrong.
This car will only be coilovers, wheels, shocks and maybe something else if it tickles my fancy. If I wreck the car, I spend very little on a new one and swap the parts. That sounds very logical to me.
I've done research on here and found absolutely nothing for my generation of Prelude for spring setup. Same on the retrofit of other shocks.
