HI everyone,
I have a 90 CRX si with a B18c motor in it. After the swap, my car keep dies on me. Normally after about 10-15 mins driving, it dies "slowly". Slowly means it doesn't shut down right a way, but when i step on the gas padel there is no response. Sometimes I had to down shift and force the car going. After I force it going, there is always back fire. If my speed is too slow then, the car stop when the rpm reach 0.

If I try to start it back on. Sometimes it starts, but it die right after the motor started. Even I punch gas when I start the motor, sometimes the rpm drop even faster right after I start it. Sometimes it will start very slowly from 0-1000 rpm.

The motor will keep dieing at least three to four times after that happened. However, if I cool it down after a period of time then the motor seem like nothing happen.

I talk to my shop, they told me to change the MAP sensor, and the fuel pump. I did both of them but it is still happening. Can any of you kindly give my crx here a hand. Thanks.

 

is it throwing any codes? Did you do the swap or did a shop? Does you exhaust seem clogged up? I had a problem like that.

just a guess but my car did this when i did my swap i had to replace my main relay and it runs perfect and i wasnt throwing any codes all is good now

I did the swap in a shop, but they couldn't find out the problem either. I did change the main relay. The ecu is a real spoon, and I change it back to a stock B16a ECU but it is still doing the same thing. My exhuast has smoke coming out everyime when I punch it hard. The shop told me it is because I am running rich, so I still try to figure out what is happening.

Do you guys think it might be the disturbutor?? Thanks for the reply and please let me know what should I do now?

 

This is a long shot but check the coil / igniter.. I had a car with a bad coil
and it gave me simular problems.

 

yeah man you are runing really really rich..that happened to me also...you have to check the voltage to your map sensor..i had to replace the wires

 

It did happened to me as well.At first i taught it was my mod that is making my car went insane..but after some checks,it was my battery as i've just installed the new oddysey pc680.Now..after took off the new battery and replaced it with my original battery...the car is running smoothly.Cheers!

bro i would check TPS make sure it,s not cracked or broken...sometimes they get cracked when swaping in the motor,if your not carefull.

 

on my b16 when my dizzy was bad it would shut down slowly but it wouldnt start back up. u said it starts back up right? if it starts back up its not the dizzy i wouldnt think
