You could get charged with having removed your cat. Any peace officer can inspect your exhaust for the catalyst, since its a crime. No cat in CA =
You can also get fined as a Gross Polluter.

Why would you need to run at your "full potential" on the streets anyway? Of course, at the track, where you can push your car in a safer environment (safer compared to the streets), you don't need the cat. And if you still want to run at your full potential on the streets, screw the cat, screw the b-pipe, and screw the fricken exhaust, and just run off of the headers.

But anyway, without having a cat to quiet your down (in addition to the functional purposes), it's going to be hard to pass with an ES oval. Sure, it's a quiet exhaust, but it's still a straight-through one, and it's never going to be quieter than a dual chamber one.

well considering running w/o a cat is incredibly illegal, i would infer that youre not going to pass. honestly dude, put on back on. for what little you gain, its not worth being harassed about it.

Who cares about the "full potential" of a 14 second Honda?

how does that justify anything? dont be the one to promote taking off a cat. the benefits will never outweigh the consequences. According to the EPA, tampering with your cat is a $2500 fine.

I noticed a small decrease in power by putting my cat back on. The only reason that I ran a test pipe is because the exhaust manifold wouldn't bolt up to the piping unless I used it. It's not a big difference in power, but a huge difference in sound. I hated the way it sounded without the cat. Kind of like a tractor trailer using the engine brake.

I'd say you're better off putting it back on for inspection. It isn't worth the risk.
