OK, Today I did a cleaning out of my engine bay.
It's a '00 Civic Si.
I used a can of Orange GUNK to break up all the dirt then rinsed the entire engine bay out.
I then drove the car from the driveway to the Garage with no problems.
Tonight (6 hours later) After I got done installing a full Suspension setup, Camber Kit, ITR Valve cover, New Iceman Intake, and tire foamed the engine bay down to make it nice and glossy, I tried to start it up and it acted like the battery was dead.
Then My buddy tried it again and it started up first turn, But was Idleing at 3500+ rpm and was sort of choppy.
What the hell could it be?
I also took out my Cruise Control box ( because my cruise cable was half severed)and moved some stock wire harnesses out of the way.
Yes, I pluged everything back in...except the Cruise Control (because it's not there anymore).
Could the Cruise control box not being there be what's causing this bad Idle?
Or could it be tire shine in a sensor/wire harness?
Anyone have a problem like this before.
Please give meany ideas.... so I can run down the list and figure out what is happening.
Thanks in advance
-Jeff

The Vacuum line was removed.
It started from the back of the intake manifold and went to a plastic cylinder, Then to the Cruise Control box.
I eliminated all of it and plugged the vacuum hole up on the intake Manifold.
The entire Cruis control system has been taken out.
Maybe the harness for the CC needs to be....bypassed?
I don't know.

the only vacuum I disconnected was on the back of the intake manifold running to the Cruise Control box.
I cut a 2 inch hose and stuck a screw in it to cap off the nub coming off the IM.
Could that be my problem?
Who has disconnected their Cruise Control here?

Yeah, I don't think air could get past that screw, It's in there pretty tight and also has some caulking holding it snug.

Hey Jeff i just took my cruise control out of my car too. Your harness doesnt need to be bypassed at all, I just tucked mine away. Anyways it does sound like a vaccum leak to me too. Make sure that you find a screw that almost looks too big and screw it all the way into the hose. If you need any other help im me. How is the intake? Send me some pics of your car. Good luck.

Yea, its a hose it not plugged, or the only other problem is that your throttle isnt closed all the way (you can check that easily) or you got a CPU problem, and your IACV is open too much.
Sounds like either a vacuum line is off, or water has made it's way into a plug or somewhere else it shouldn't. Good luck.
when you installed the intake you didnt mess around with the idle screw on the throttle body did you? if so, go back and turn the screw until your idle goes down

Nope, Still at stock setting.
I have an idea what it is but I've been down with a bad Migrain headache today.
I'll look into the problem a little deeper tomorrow, But I'm thinking that the throttle cable for the Cruise Control box is tied up and may have tension on the gas pedal, that may be the reason for the 3500+ RPM.
I'll keep you all posted as soon as I'm back on my feet.
Peace

have you disconnected your battery to reset the ecu? not sure if it will do anything, but its habit for me to do this after any mod

That's what came to mind for me as well. Make sure that your throttle cables are not hung and sticking the tb open.
