Timing Belts / Cam gears. B-18c
My engine is making noises from the timing belt region. And I was told its because the belt itself is too loose. Im thinking I need to get either a new timing belt or new cam gears to fix this problem.
I am curious, are aftermarket cam gears such as ones manufactured by Venom or AEM slightly larger in size? And if they are and I put them on my car, will it mess up the timing on my engine?
I ask because I dont want to buy new cam gears if I am just going to need to get a new timing belt anyways. I'd like to get new cam gears for styling purposes, but I cant aford both at this moment.

you don't need cam gears to solve this problem...and aftermarket cam gears are the same size as OEM.....tighten your tbelt....get a new timing belt tensioner

How much do these run for?

$60 or so. If the belt is loose, you're engine is one step away from the grave. It it slips real bad or the belts snaps, you may have to get the head re-worked. I'd get it fixed soonest.
