Well it finally happened to my cousin. He lives in a rather nice part of Connecticut and it was still stolen .

2001 Black ITR only 24K Miles (ITR# not known, it was like that when he bought it)

He had a bunch of layers of security as well, not to mention it was in his garage.

Fuel Cut-off switch
Alarm w/pager
Battery was D/C
ECU was removed.
Some other things as well that I don't know of.

It happened between 11pm Friday night - 8am Saturday morning. I don't have much information other than that. Last I heard from him they were still trying to figure out how they got into his garage. Nothing seemed out of place, no glass broken or anything of the sort.

Things to look out for:

JDM Front-End Painted Stock Black w/Gold-Flake Additive
JDM ITR Shift boot w/yellow stitching
JDM ITR Yellow Recaro Seats (Front, MINT condition)

Sparco Steering Wheel (sorry not sure which one)
JDM Impreza STi Pedals (No idea, but that's what he said)
J's Racing Intake (Carbon fiber one)

I've only seen one black R in CT... It didn't have the ITR stickers removed and tint all around did it?

 

Nope, he still had his ITR stickers, he did have dark *** tint though.

 

What'd they do? Push it out?

 

why was the battery disconnected?

He disconnects the battery everynight, just as added precaution, doesn't really do much, but seconds count to thieves.

 

oh okay I usually leave my battery connected every night so if someone brakes in to my car, atleast my pager will go off.

 

He has a seperate battery for his sound system/alarm/gps system in his trunk.

He's not a bright guy, but he's not THAT stupid

 

damn sounds like a lot of $ went into this itr... yellow recaros, jdm front, te-37's...that sucks. Once again it proves thieves will stop at nothing to steal an ITR, this guy had protection and it was in his damn garage.

and you know the sad thing. you cant do **** to thieves to protect your car cuz theyll ******* sue you.

that why they steal because if you touch them, they know they will win.

thats **** is crazy all that sercurity and in a gargage and still stolen i think its someome who knew everything about him or it got towed

 

did his gps system help
