If you are keeping an OBDI setup, I'd not pay a dime over 500 dollars.

There are a lot of good respectable mechanics in NJ - even some HT members might offer to help you for half the price. I work for beer

Yah, 850 is wayy too much. 500 is more like it and the going rate. Who is doing your install, hehe

That sounds right for a shop. You could find people on H-T that would do it for 5 or 600. Then you could find some (like me) that do it for 300.

thanks for the offer but i'd rather hold a shop responsible if something goes wrong. They have a gen 2 I might buy for 1200.

you should just drop the motor in yourself..save the time & money..it's a one day swap..it should take 45 min to an hour to get the SOHC out and the DOHC back in the engine bay..just make sure you have everything for the swap..piece of cake

For $500 you could build yourself the collection of tools to do this job!

My b16 swap labor was $300 + my old D16z6 motor from my friends. And they wanted more. I was a noob then, learned alot though.

Ask some friends for a garage space and tools, then work for beer or $200 or something like that. $850 no way!

i'm getting it done at http://www.1320online.com They do good work, they're fast and if anything goes wrong they'll help me out. I'll do everything else myself. I'm not good at wiring. They got a special now. $500 for any b-series swap

man, i completely overcharged if u are getting a b16 dropped in. i paid $750 to get my blown d16 replaced with another d16...course, they quoted me at 500 but i guess there were incidental cost associated with the swap?

what else did they do? They're offering me no charge to throw in a clutch and flywheel if I get it through them.
