Default cheap and warm riding pants

i am looking for some pants that are warm. dont care so much about crash protection although i should be. but i just want something to keep the wind off my legs. the FJR fairing blocks almost everything, but the SV is leaving me out in the open.

harley style leather chaps might actually work great, even if they would look gay on a sportbike. they do not trap any air though, just block the windblast.

any ideas? I want to ride in anything over 40degrees. need warm gloves and pants and i am set.

Ever thought about searching REI for some equipment?

Although they make specialty clothing for Recreational Outdoors, they do make some nice layered clothing. They have the REI One pants which can be worn underneath something else. It keeps warmth, it wicks, and blocks 98% of wind.

Just a suggestion. You can wear it under normal jeans and what not. Or Under leather.

well i definitely want something that goes over my clothes. i am guessing all the options there arent cheap.

maybe just a heavy set of sweatpants that will break the wind is all i am going to get. problem is they are floppy and will press against my leg and the cold will go right thru them. hm.

You're telling me.

You pansy. If I were in TX riding my bike, I'd be in shorts.

I'm in jeans in VA, and I freeze my *** off.

Your in texas so you might be out of luck at the local stores but everyone up here seems to wear snowmobile pants with leathers on under them or just the snowmobile pants. They work awesome

i picked up a pair of First Gear textile HT Overpants for dirt cheap at some sale last year. Regular price on them is $179 tho. I got lucky and found them for less than $40(IIRC).

I have worn snowboard pants before and they work perfectly too. Right now may not be the best time to pick up snow gear as it is winter and the prices won't be the best, but maybe you could pick up some lesser name branded stuff...you don't have to buy Burton or FourSquare pants.
