Anyway to tell Gs-R from VIN?
Hey, the 8th VIN number signifies the trim model. If the 8th number is 8 or 9 then the integra is a 1992-1995 GSR. a 1991 LS SPECIAL EDITION integra will also have a number 9 as the 8th number. If you want the other trim model codes then hit me bacc up. Hope you find this useful for whatever reason it is youre asking.

Whats that all about. If you really want to know if it is a DC2 isnt looking at the gauge cluster a lot less obvious then staring at the small VIN number that I cover up whenever I park my car?

Shoot my VIN stays covered w/ a business card all the time.
When I was pulled over one time a cop asked my why it was covered, and I told him about how anyone w/ a VIN can make a key at a dealership, and he was like ah okay, just checking.

ehhh, just sorta wierd, all these post lately about how to identify type r's gsr's by there vins, how to jack up complete sides of a car etc, seems fishy to me
If you are going to steal a car using the VIN number you need the ENTIRE number gsr/ls/ etc doesnt matter. Integra owners are so damn paranoid.
Noob with RS: yea the 8th number tells it all but isnt that DC2 or DB8 a hell of a lot easier to spot?

yea its a hell of a lot easier to see especially when i have a piece of paper in my pocket which has the two three digit-codes that i find a lot harder to remember than the numbers 8 and 9.
DC2 or DB8...hell i think that should mean something to every integra owner. It is a lot easier to see that Vs count those small numbers in the VIN til the 8th number then check it out.
No need to be an *** about it. A few people already said the DC2 is easier to spot. It is just an alternative.

the acura dealerships here make you show proof of ownership. they want to see registration and your D.L.
