Default cars been sitting..now what....

ok My CRX has been sitting for over 6 months now due to 1)getting scammed, 2)life ******* me over, and 3) having a shitty job.

BUT all hope is not lost, because next weekend i took some time off work (for my birthday) and am gonna put another D16a6 into my baby.

I don't have too much of a budget, but i need to know what kind of stuff needs to be replaced (other than the engine ) since its been sitting for so long. I'm sure the gas tank will be empty due to evaporation, but what about stuff like the fuel filter, or fuel pump? anything like that i should be concerned about?

BTW i searched and the server for the search function is down it said

sorry about your life situation.. wish you best of luck.. it will get better... and this swap would be a start...

basically do a major tuneup... check your belts and change your water pump for sure... change the spark plugs and wires... change the fuel, oil filter, and air filter... change your oil... be wise to change the fuel injectors.. but i would check them first... and try putting that stuff (its an additive to help start car when car been sitting long... just saw it at walmart in the car section forgot the name... )

cool thanks. I didn't think of all that, but i'm glad i decided to ask.

but i plan on replacing the water pump since the engine is out, i have a 2 month used timing belt i plan on putting on. As for the fuel filter, i don't know how to take it off, and definitly don't want to break anything so i might just take that to Jiffy Lube or something.

If your swappin the motor. Id suggest fuel filter for definate, and the water pump. You may also want to check the suel pump. Doubt its bad but check it just in case.

fuel pump shouldn't be really affected since you haven't ran your car for 6 mo.. pretty much the fuel filter would be cloaged and the injectors too... but that is a preventative measure... IMO i would test out all the stuff mentioned above and go from there.. but the fuel filter and waterpump for sure (dont mess w/ that ****... you'll **** up your engine big time if not mo' problem mo' money)
