Lower TIe bAr Quick and Easy ?
Why is this used? I bought one here on h-t. Is it mainly for drifting, looks? or what? I see people have this, and I just bought it cause it looks nice. Tips? Thought?
It's supposed to increase chassis rigidity, but it isn't the best upgrade for that, it probably helps some, but not much. I hope you didn't spend a lot on it. I'd consider getting one if I already had sway bars, etc.
There's mixed opinions on this... theoretically, it's supposed to "work" because it stiffens up your handling. Afterall, the ITRs come with one stock. But realistically, I can say that I didn't feel the difference of a lower tie bar (I have a EK sedan).
I have ground controls with tokico illuminas, 22mm rear sway with Beaks kit (the best bang for the buck), front neuspeed strut tower bar (also felt the difference with this upgrade), and then a skunk2 lower tie (didn't feel anything).
I guess the only difference I noticed was that whenever I come up my driveway, the rear of my car doesn't sqeak like it used to.
If you're looking for bang for the buck handling upgrades, your money should be spent elsewhere, but if you're looking for some bling factor (like me), then it looks cool... especially when someone's driving behind you and can see your stuff. Of course there's people that are still going to tell you that a lower tie bar is a waste of money because it's for bling, but they are the same douchebags that waste 400 bucks to get genuine CTR headlamps and 400 bucks to get a genuine mugen front lip.
So yeah, to sum it up, it doesn't do much for handling, but it does do a lot for you if you want your car to look good to you.
