ok putting an obd1 dx motor in a obd0 91 EX. Everything went smooth. Used intake manifold, wiring harness and injectors of the EF.
Then the distributor of the EG. All the colors on the obd1 wires on the distributor matched up between the obd0 harness so I just spliced and wired it together. There were two white wires, but one pair was thicker gauge then the other so I put them together.
When I start the car it cranks good and starts for like a second then just dies. It is getting very strong spark, 180 compression across the board, fuel and air. The only thing that I can think of is that the distributor isn't firing right.

we did the swap together
one time while it was cranking we got a code 8 which is TDC position. i know this "sensor" is inside the distributer...
any ideas?

in the past when ive done this conversion i used the ef dizzy and either one or two bolts to hold it on and it worked fine but for this swap we decided to use the dizzy we had laying around (EG)
Is the fat white wire on the harness side connected to yel /grn on the obd 1 dizzy?

ummm...or you can do it the right way. p28, 4 wire o2 sensor, conversion harness.

u need the obd0 dizzy, what ecu r u usin
obd0 dizzy = obd0 ecu
obd1 dizzy = obd1 ecu
i had this exact problem wit my dx hatch, put a obd1 d16z6 in it with the obd1 dizzy but i wuz runnin the pm6 si ecu which is obd0, that didnt work. then we put an obd0 dizzy on it and it worked.

ummm... no, this is a $300 beater were not wasting good parts on it.

we are using the stock pm6 si/ex ecu.
the last time i did this conversion i used the obd1 dizzy on a dx head but the only difference was the ecu was whatever the one is for 88-91 dx/lx dual point.
anyway, it looks like were gonna splice a 88-91 dizzy on and try that.

if you have the obd1 dizzy you have to get the conversion harness and run an obd1 ECU. you should put the obd0 7 wire dizzy on.
