ok heres the deal. i got a 87 Accord 4dr auto with 111,111(rolled over today) miles on her. now i have 2 problems with her. one is 2nd gear doesnt work. no biggie there. but the 2nd problem worries me alot.

it seems that after the car gets warmed up it will seem to be eratic with its power. the tach will jump and the car will sometimes stall. now if i restart the car it seems to fix the problem but only temp. any ideas what is going on with my car?

please note i paid $35 for her so she is a beater

your tranny is probably making the spikes, the power isnt getting distrub correctly im guessing. gl

 

but i does the same thing when i put it in neutral. so that basically rules out the tranny and 2nd gear has been missing for 3 years and just this past few months its started this problem

 

eee........thats along time without a 2nd gear.

 

ha you dont really need 2nd gear. im sorry to say that its only a beater and will only ever be a beater.

oh and when the tank is full no problems but as it goes down to about half tank the problems get really really bad. so i keep it above a half tank all the time

 

anyone else?

 

sounds like somethings wrong with the battery, get it tested?
