I bought an oem 99-00 Civic CD player from the junkyard and of course it didn't come with a code. Is there a generic code that will work, or do I need to take the unit into a Honda dealer and hope that they can pull up my unit and give me a code?

I sold one and I needed the VIN number off the car to get the code for the radio, that may pose a problem for you.

There may be a master code or something though.

 

well when my friend's battery died her radio didnt work. what i had to do was pull it out, take it to t a hodna dealer, have them look up the code, and then put it back in and punch in the code. there's usually a serial number sticker on teh radio, i think on the bottom...they use that to find the code.

 

Find out the VIN and find the dealership that sold the car. They will have the code. Thats the only way I know of.
