cheapest would be used nitrous kit or shave the head for more compression. pulleys just isnt worth it to me maybe also shave/lighten the flywheel that doesnt add any HP but the response will be improved prob cost you 50 bucks to get that done. last but not least get a good tune up make sure car is runnin good and correctly.

A 16 sec 1/4 mile if u cant drive...
He wants a cheap reliable mod because this will be his daily driver so I doubt he'll want to put a junkyard turbo kit on...plus he only has $200 more to spend..

I would get a fpr $50-$100 and you can find dsm 450 injectors for under $100..
Either that or an msd or jacobs ignition...

what does a relatively stock sohc need w/ an ignition upgrade, or larger injectors? Those are both pointless as of now. The stock ignition is sufficiant for several hundred horse power, and his injectors are fine unless he boosts, or does internal work or a big shot of N2O

Do a ZC/Si transmission hybrid, granted that will probably blow your $200 budget by $200 more but I think it would be worth, given you have the knowledge to do so.

His budget is small, and he obviously doesn't have tons of experience, or he wouldn't have posted this. That's why I suggested relatively easy mods....

Aftermarket intake won't do much(if anything) because you are running stock internals...the engine isn't starving for more air. Save your money until you have enough for a substantial mod.

What ECU are you using? You may want to spend the money on something to help tune the motor to get more power. VAFC,Hondata ECU or a chipped ECU.

i dont know much about d series but them y8 intake mani looks like a real good mani. cheap and might be a few hp there. weight redution would be ok. but the best weight reduction would be some lightweight rims.

Search on here... in the classified, if you don't care having used stuff ( I shurely don't ... ) find a cam and some valve spring's, you'll get a good response of the trottle and a few more pony from the cam...

hop that help

Kranked.

HOOOO note that you can put an LS trottle body on that intake manifold, it shurely help ( with the cam that would be best of both world... )

NX Mainline nitrous kit. Alittle over your budget but the power provided can't be beat for the price.
