Default beating a dead horse.. another no start problem, got fuel pump, got spark, no spray

As if there isn't enough no start questions here is another, helped a buddy put a d16y7? back in a 98 lx auto, fuel pump runs, but the injectors will not spray, I have pulled the rail out, and held the injectors in place as it turns over but in will never spray and the plugs are dry. It has spark, and If i pour gas in the t'b, it will backfire and cough, but not run right, like the timing is all screwed up but I pulled the cap off, and with the crank at tdc, it points right at #1, tranny ground and t-stat ground is on, and the only code it is throwing is #14, iat I think. It is a salvage yard motor that ran when pulled, and the car ran when we pulled out the old block that had a nice "vent" hole in it. I don't know what I am missing, If any one has any suggestions thanks ahead.

u can try to swap out your fuel filter or have your fuel pressure regulator and fuel dampener checked or swap it out

Default Re: (4cylinder)

Thanks for the help, The new motor didn't have a harness, so I just left the old on in the car, and hooked it all back up when I got it in the car, I think I have got everything connected, both of the connectors are plugged in on the driver strut tower near the firewall, The filter and regulator are ok, I pulled the rail, reg, and injectors off of the old motor, that was running when pulled. I have never messed with obd2 stuff, but doe the crank trigger sensor near the crank pully control the injectors, or are the controlled from one of the sensors inside the dizzy, I just don't understand why It has spark, has fuel up to the injectors but that is it, anytime in the past, if it was a ground, or something, the pump would be dead, and no spark, I am stumped. I was hoping for about a 6hr job, that has now taken a day and a half.

it sounds like the ECU isnt telling the injectors to open, go get a 4$ test light at autozone/wherever and check for voltage at the injectors.
