These guys really suck in the advertising department. 6 people showed up today. Including a Mosler MT900S sportin' 430 rwhp (and he calls it *pansy*...next engine that's going in puts out over 800 rwhp). Can you say, SPLOOGE?!?!?!

Plus, come so you can say you met Chuck Mallett. And he offered you access to his tools.

I was there two weekends ago and Mallet was playing with the Mosler and their pimpy CTS V. All around great guys.

I hope to go Sunday - I'm moving this weekend and that's my reward for getting it all done on Saturday. Look for the pimpy blue/white Meotter if you go Sunday.

the track is done for the season. however, ALL their open lapping days are only 120 bucks and you can rest assured you will get at least 6 20-30 minute session if a lot of people show up or if there isnt many, they just let you run all day off and on as you please

wish i still had my car. i really really wanted to run at nelsons sometime before i sold it. allwell. im ganna build and all track car next year so maybe ill get some time in then. do they let bikes run at nelsons? im going to be turboing my 89 Suzuki GS500E and id like some place i can run it out

The girl at Beaverun told me they might consider doing another open track day this weekend if the weather held and we could get a decent amount of cars to show up. I had also heard that Nelson was toying around with the same idea.

So, think we can get enough people interested? I still have some tread to burn off before winter!!!

Last I heard, Beaver was only willing to do open track days for people they knew personally.

Nelsons is actually primarily a motorcycle track, and they have tons of open days/DE days there. Check http://www.fastone.com

They're done for the season, but they said they're having semi-private test days for $250 a pop. So maybe gather a group of ten for $25 each and raid the track? I corded my tires, so I'm done for the season tho, until I bring my Victos from home.

 

UPDATED UPDATE - just talked to the track manager at Nelson's, they are very strongly considering one last open track day this Saturday 11/8 as long as the weather is decent.

im almost positive they meant 250 per person for the semi private test days. if it was only 250 for the whole track they would be losing a lot of money just to open and have people working.

Markus, id love to head back one last time before winter but my funding is scarce. i think im going to just have to wait till next year.

This would be for cars only - no bikes or amish buggies (since you're from Smithville, hah). Come on out!

i think most of us racepa.com guys are pretty much done for the year. oh by the way even though you are from ohio, you should check us out since you are fairly close and we go to the same tracks. we are a very diverse group, not just honda's.

im not sure, some of them might head back but most i think are done for the season. ill post to let everyone know.

oh and the 250 per person thing is not for standard fun days. its for after the fun days are over they offer semi private test days for race teams or really anyone who wants to go out and have a pretty much an empty track for most of the day.

 

I want to do it again, but I have to conserve rubber. Nelson is the best $120 I've spent this year. That Mosler was like having the Batmobile suddenly appear in the rear view. Awesome!

Sadly, it's being retired soon...possibly this week. Here's a pic of what you'll see out on the track next year (the blue one).
