im looking at this bike and its owner says that the last owner of the bike lost the title.....he says obtaining the title is as easy as just going to the dmv and requesting it.....how true is this??? what type of paperwork must i have to actually obtain the title at the dmv??? thanks guys!

 

Go to the DMV and ask them. I wouldn't buy a bike without a title but if the price is right and DMV can give you something in writing that they can title it for you then go for it.

 

If that is all it takes to get the title, he should have gotten it before trying to sell it. Don't buy it without the title. How the hell do you even register it without a title?

 

All the seller has to do is to get 2 forms from DMV:

1. Request of Title form
2. bill of sale form
