my 00 integra has the break light on and wont go away any suggestions???
cover it with electrical tape or check your brake fluid and pads. Most likely its probably time to change your brake pads. But covering the light with electrical tape would be cheaper
j/p check your pads... brake pads that is

Yea same thing happened with me, fluids were fine, checked the pads and they needed to be replaced. If it's neither of those, wire could have come loose or something with your e-brake.

Same happened to me, it was my brake pads. Once I got them changed I never had the problem again, but at first it was getting annoying. It would always be on when the car warmed up, then I'd stop to get something to eat, and when I'd go back into the car it'd be off when I'm driving. Once it cooled down again, same problem.
dont feel bad buddy this is a defect my 00 integra has the same thing its a recall or somthing .. somthing about brake fluid filter changes the lvl of the brake fluid so even if its full it saids its empty.
Samething happened to me in my 00 GS. It's the fliud filter. Just take it out, it's not a big deal. In the fluid theres a plastric piece with filter material on it. Just remove that and your all set.
I would not remove that piece. What you want to do is make sure the peice is floating at the top. Sometimes they get stuck in the bottom for whatever reason. I wiggled mine around a bit and it never happened again.

Just leave it. I have a 00 integra too and have been having this problem. Went to acura twice which temp fiexed the problem. But it is back. I just deal with it. Acura says its a defect and they can't fix it <--- Go figure

You can do it yourself. Just look at the fluid like I said.

No, it's not a defect.
it's your brake light switch or a pinched wire from your brake light switch to the module in the trunk.
Im glad you people are reminding him to check is pads and fluid because that's about all the good your doing this guy.
Pads, rotors, calipers(unless the piston is leaking)...all of that WILL NOT CAUSE A BRAKE LIGHT TO STAY ON.
i dont recall any "electrical" sensors on the brake pad to tell the ecu to throw a brake light on. i dont think so.
Faulty master cylinder could be a problem in some cases if the fluid is dirty and has contaminated the seals. But not very likely.
Very likely is a brake light switch or a pinched wire.
A pinched wire if your actual brake lights stay on.
But in most cases.. it's your brake light switch. replace it buddy.

i have same thing it comes on when its cold....its my fault cuz when I was reassembling my suspension i dind't install the strut back correctly...so it was on a wrong side hehe..so I didn't reinstall the brakelines correctly they are only connected by one bolt instead of 2....no difficulaties in braking...just brake fluid is a lil bit slower in flowing.
But once again only happens when its cold...and goes away after car warms up and I press brake pedal

your brake light switch is sticking and it needs to be replaced.
well it doesnt NEED TO, but that's what your problem is.
it will eventually stick all the way and your brake light will stay on..
it will not affect performance.

Yea I don't doubt that is the switch. I think that was the other piece they replaced when I had to bring it back it. Problem with that is it will keep going out. Acura knows that its a defect. There is not a perminate fix unless u wanna keep replaceing **** all the time

yes, there is a permanant fix. I just think the acura dealership you went to was very lazy and did not feel like diagnosing it. Did they check any fuses that may short out the brake light switch?
I know at my acura dealership.. we fix problems the first time. There is nothing on the car that cannot be fixed.
