Default RS-VTECH?

Hi, I own a barebone stock 94' integra RS.. The first mod I really want to do to it is go VTEC. I understand that VTEC is all in the head. So if I were to purchase just the head of a GSR or SI engine, could i just hook that bad boy right up to my car "plug and play" without having to mod anything else or make any adjustments? Do i need any certain parts to make it fit or anything? or anything else to make the VTEC work? I WANT VTEC in my RS!!! please help!!!

what is flaming? what are bumps? and just to clear some confusion up.. after reading various articles about going VTEC i read sentences like "the LS block blah blah blah".. the LS block is the same EXACT as the RS block right? so whenever people say i can use the "LS block for blah blah blah" that also means i can use the "RS block for blah blah blah" right?? sorry, im a noob. one day i will be leet.. one day.. oh, and VTECH phones are spelt with an H.

welcome to ht, go to seach and type in "ls vtec" if u have ne questions about it, u can pm (private message) me by clicking on the little bubble underneath my screen name. or you can IM me: hanisbb21. i just finished my ls-v and would be glad to share some tips.

"bumping" is when you post on a thread which then "bumps" that thread to the top of the forum.

If only it was that simple! but its not.

RS block, LS block = Same block. Both RS & LS have a b18a or b18b. so when some one refers to it as an LS "engine", "block" there talking about the b18a, b18b.
and yes you can use the head off of a GSR or a type r, or an si (commonly reffered to as the b16) but its not just as simple as to just bolt it on. If your serious about going ls/vtec then you need to search, and trust me theres plenty of info on ls/vtec here on HT, all you have to do is search.

Flaming - Usually when a noob(but not limited to) says something stupid and other people talk **** to you. example... "I raced a corvette with my stock ls and won!" lol

vtec isnt everything in the world, but if you plan on making the car really fast its not bad to have. you could just turbo your motor how it is and make about twice the power for not a lot more expensive, if at all

Its gonna be a little more expensive than that. But a turbo would be a way better option.

LS boosted is a great alternative... i started my vtec build and it ended up being much more expensive then i intended. ie: little doodads and repairs/replacements here and there... but while vtec is mad fun to have, hearing your blow off valve release is a much better feeling!!! (and its faster)

eitherway, tuning is key and installers that know what they are doing is key... research a lot. hit up teamintegra.net, they have amazing articles covering all aspects o turbos and ls vtec builds... from what i can gather you are a bit of a noob. which is no problem at all, everyone is at some point. and since you are new at this, take your time, dont waste money on parts ull eventually wanna change, and youll be much better off, financially, and with the results of your car!!

thanks for all the input fellaz i really appreciate it. I look forward to discussing future issues with you all, and to those who so-called "flame" me, i would just like the time to say flame me if you will to insult me.. if thats what makes you feel better. what makes ME feel better is that i know i would bust open your snot-locker if you were to insult me in such a manner in person. umm.. bump me?

Hey, welcome to H-T and good luck with your ride. a lot of the guys here gave you good advice and most ppl will here. But yeah, do your research and remember that you don't need to rush things when it comes to planning on what direction you wanna take your car in. Many will say to go allmotor or cross over to the darkside(aka: boosting) like so many of us decide to do after getting bored with our old n/a set up.
