Door Open Beeps
Alright, when the key is in the ignition and the door is open, the door beeps, to let you know it is open. I know you can turn the key farther to ingition, but I don't want to do that, it drains the battery faster. I also know that you can fix the door pins so that the car thinks that the door is closed. Don't want to do that erithor, cause it will disable the door open sensor for my alarm. Is there any way to disable the beeping make it stop? I've tried looking around under the dash, but haven't been able to find anything. Thanks.
Why not pull the key out of the ignition?
It seems like I got mine to stop by pulling the key almost all the way out of the ignition. I usually just pull the key and drop on the console.
good luck

Because I want to be able to run my stereo. Our school has massive tailgate parties before football games, and some music would be nice. But having that constant beeping is very anoying. And I don't want to turn the key all the way to ACC, because it runs more things such as heat, ac, ect. (i know you can trun it off, but air gets pumped through even when the fans are on off) I just want to stop the beeping.
if you take off the lower cover under the steering wheel, you will find a 2 or 3 pin connector (seperate from the ignition switch connector that has about 8 wires) it goes to the 'key in beeper'... just unplug that and that should stop it. Hope it helps
