Default fuel, spark, no codes and no start b16 crx

engine: b16a1
car: 1990 crx dx

Car was running good. Drove to a friends house, turned it off. Came out later and it won't start. After trying to crank a few times, when i let it sit, it will start and idle for about 1 second, if i give it gas during that one second it instantly dies, if i try to let it idle, it also dies on its own. then after three more atempts, it will idle for a second, then die if i give it gas. its like a cycle.

--> The main relay is working fine, checked all terminals.

--> I hear the fuel pump prime.

--> It has strong blue spark.

--> Theres 12 volt at the injectors, but i couldnt check for pulses with the meter i had last nite.

What i suspect is the same problem i had about a month ago when i lost injector pulse. I borrowed a snap on meter that can display 1 second pulses and i am checking that tonite.

All my grounds are good, and no check engine lights, and the funny thing is, <u> when i start the car i get the single quick red led from the ecu,</u> which ive read means its ok.

Sorry for this novel of a post, my real question is could this be a fuel filter thing? Are there any sensors on the engine that can impede injector pulse when they malfunction?

This really sucks because im crazy poor right now, but before i blow another 200 on an ecu, i was wondering if perhaps i have 2 working ecus here, and just a **** up elsewhere, like a sensor or something.

The dizzy is still jdm, and the fuel pump is still dx. Does using the dx map sensor have negative effects on anything?

Thanks for looking, any help is appreciated.

the ecu is supposed to blink once on initial key on.. this is the self test and means it's ok..

can u smell fuel while trying to start it?

not only do i smell fuel, but when i was probing the injector plugs, the o-rings must be shot bc a little fuel leaked out, but that leads me to believe the rail is FULL.

which makes sense bc when the car sits some fuel seeps in there, allowing it to idle for like a second. give it gas, dies be the injectors arent pulsing. ill know that for sure tonite.

but do any sensors impede injector pulse, PA, KA or TPS??

cant believe im out another ecu.

I have a similar problem, I have no compression on any of the pistons, check your compression I still havent got it running yet I was told that the timming belt skiped a tooth or two ( could a timming belt skip a tooth or two and dont get any compression on all 4 pistons? ) The ECU is fine but dosent throw any codes 1st Gen B16 Pr3 ECU. Iam ****** pissed, so yah you may wanna check your compression as well

thanks for the reply.

im taking it to get fuel pressure and compression tested, although it was running FINE before i shut the car off.

any more info someone could share is appreciated.

</TD></TR></TABLE>did you do a compression test? Do a compression test before you take it to someone to test anything else. If no compression, your timing belt has skipped a couple teeth.

check your plugs.

also, you say strong blue spark, but you gotta test that **** with a spark tester at least, if not an oscilloscope.

also change your fuel filter either way.

good luck.
