Default 98 Honda Accord V6 Throttle Body Replacement

Why should a V6 T Body with 50K miles and at least two replacement air filter installed be carbonized?
Would a defective, as in partially plugged, but not detected EGR Port cause such? (By detected I mean scaned repair code indicating such.)
A code P0505 and a $576 service bil for a new T Body cancelled the P0505 and reduced my bank balance.
BUT AGAIN. Would any one know whether a defective PVC, EGR Port, would have caused or contributed to this T Body replacement?

Had you ever replaced the PCV valve? How many miles are on the engine?
