Oh boy...Missed 4th just driving and now...
I was opening her up just to give it a little push and I shift to 4th and whada ya know. It doesn't go it, so it rev's up higher than I like I take it right out, and wham, just as I expected....THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on....great..
I'm going to check the code in just a sec....anyone got any predictions....

its problably nothing if your motor still drives ok and sounds ok. Sometimes when you misshift and rev the engine violently, it might throw off a sensor and cause a check engine light. Before checking the code, try resetting your ecu and see if the cel comes on. THat usually solves it, if not then check the code. I dont know what code you will get, but it happens to me every so often. reset the ecu and it goes away.
No, It doesn't feel like is wants too stall, I was thinking the same thing...well...there's always warrenty. I won't be able to take it in for a while, will I be able to drive it to work and do daily things ???
That's rough. Hey when i try and take off in first and barely give my car gas and let up on the clutch, it like sputters/hesistates then starts going like normal. Is that normal?

I would NOT drive it. There is no way to be absolutely sure it will even be covered. And not to mention the damage that might be caused by driving on it like that..and will THAT be covered under warranty.
Better to be safe than sorry.

listen to your exhaust does it make popping sounds from the muffler? yes? yer screwed. i would try a compression test or a leakdown test. for a stock gsr you want to be about 200 psi of compression in each cylinder. you are suposedly allowed up to a 15 psi difference between cylinders. but to me it sounds liek you bent valves, ive done it a few times
do not drive you did bend valves. just had this done. not covered under warranty. uhh $1200 problem to fix. i did the same exact thing in my R. Just tell them you didn't know what happened it just started acting funny. but don't be suprised when they say stuff was burnt up like you over reved and that isn't covered. sorry to hear man.

interesting....Acura dealership here where I live replaced the whole head after a friend of mine bent his valves missing 4th and going into 2nd.
i wish i had bent valves instead of a titanium retainer taking a **** on me and dropping an intake valve at 3.5 grand in fifth gear,
Well I took my car to my honda master. This guy is a friend of mine that can do engine swaps just as easily as I can put gas.
I pull up, he listenes...nope, not a value. He tells me Acura (which is now under new ownership) is going to hate me. He says it can be as bad and needing new piston rings (again) thats what happened the last time I took it in to Acura or it could be something as simple as a fouled plug, but thats wishful thinking.
He told me when I left if the check engine light doesn't come on then don't take it to the dealer and he'll look at it but of course it did. So now I'm going to have to take it down there after X-mas and tell them what the deal is.
Funny thing, this guy who looked at my car is applying to be the parts mgr. there. Its no longer lithia acura its Superior Acura, owned by Hadad.

$1200 for valves? You can get s.s crower valves for just under $140 per set (intake or exhaust) for a B18B. I can't see the GSR valves being much more... or are they the same? Well on any note, I'd be ordering some crower's if its a valve problem. How could you mess something up by just revving too high? Have you got a modified rev-limit or something?

I'll still try reseting the ecu.
