Tein SS Coilovers or Omnipowers Sports
Hey guys cant really decied which one to get. Its either a used Tein SS Coilovers (16-way adjustables) or the omnipower sports coilover sysyem. Anyone ever had both the products? Hows the ride on the teins and hows the ride on the omnis.
thanks guys
thanks guys
I'd get the Teins. My friend has the Omnipowers, and they don't really seem to handle as good as I thought they would. Something doesn't feel right about them too me. I have Tein REs on my car, and I love them. I know they aren't the same as the SS, but I have no complaints at all.
I have a set of tein SS. I love them!!! A friend has the Omnis on his teg. They handle ok. They are kinda limited on adjustability. Personally id go with the tein. My car hands likes its on rails especially on high speed cornering. I’ve taken mine to there limits and happy with them.

Not bashing Tein, but I wonder if people recommend Tein just because they're a 'bling brand'
Unfortunately I dont think Omni Power sounds cool enough and its name still hasnt built up enough base compared to the Teins.
Simply put, is the Tein SS worth the $200? Or is it just a name brand thing?
With that being said, i have no experience w/either or, just trying to get more subjective replies

What are the plans for the car?
I was facing the same dilema and I wanted something that could be tracked so I went with the omni's.

another vote for TEIN
i love mine & so does everyone who has them.
Also, how is TEIN (or any suspension mod) a bling factor?? People can't see your springs or coilovers..

I'm loving my tein SS ever since i got them. they handle great on streets and it's comfortable stiffness. My friend couldn't believe it was tein ss after riding in it.

If you want a really good auto-x setup, I would get GC/Konis or some higher end coilover. IMO, the SS are a street only coilover. They have pretty soft rates, and I don't consider them to be good enough for any real kind of racing.

thanks guys</TD></TR></TABLE> THe Ride on the teins are excellent, the ride on the omni is pretty bone jarring. If its for the street and occassional weekend auto-x I would recommend the SS because of the damping adjustability, and streetable spring rates. For a car that spends most of its time on the street, definitely SS over omni.

I think you mean that he should be comparing the Tein SS to Omni street coilovers. Tein SS is more street coilover only, not for track use. Omni Sports are more track coilovers...

Tein SS are soft. As stated many times above, they are more for a street setup. If you want to track it you will want something stiffer. For the price of SS i would rather go with custom rated ground controls or skunk2s with Koni yellows.
But out of the choices you listed, i would go with the Omni's, just because i dont mind the stiffer ride. It all comes down to what you are doing with the car and preference.

Yes, they do. The SS and the Flex rates are wayy soft. My friend just got the Flex for his prelude, and they are really soft. My REs on full soft are stiffer than the Flex on full stiff.
