Heard of aftermarket HID's fading?

Heard of aftermarket HID's fading?
* mods if this is not the proper place feel free to move it.
I searched, but found nothing about aftermarket HID's fading in color.
The reason I bring this up is because, of course I can notice a differance in the color between the left and the right. I just noticed it today, where as before they were a nice blue hue 8000 K. Is this a sign that the dimmer one is about to go? I have already had to replace one just after I bought the kit. (kit is a Philips)
and please don't turn this into "I hate aftermarket HID's" or "I think they are a bad idea " war

well..HID's do fade a bit, they fade to a more purplish hue i believe..correct me if I'm wrong. 8000k HIDs should have a purple tint to them too, my bro has 8000k hids in his wrx and they are even more purple than my 7000k. A blue tint should be seen in HIDs ~6000k. Pure white is 4300k
