What size tires/rims do u guys use for autocross and roadracing?
Just wondering......
Do u use the same size for both autocross AND road racing or have a different size for each event?

Currently i'm running 15x7's for both a/x and HPDE, but if i were to campaign my car in a sanctioned race series, i would probably have at least 2 sets of wheels, if not more.
15x7 with 205/50/15 azenis for A/X, and were i to be racing, 225/45/15 kumho 710's or hoosiers.
with the new azenis coming out and new sizes, i'm probably making the switch to 235/40/17 for A/X, and finding a set of R-comps for hpde when the budget allows. If i were in an R-comp A/X class, i'd just run the 15x7's.
alot of it depends on your chassis, fender clearance, preferred tire mfr, budget, and competition classing. In general, for r-compound events, 15 is a good rim size for tread width selection, available brands, and price. 17" r-compounds will eat you out of house and home.

Stupid tires.
I try to run the widest allowed in the smallest diameter that will fit depending on the rules for the series.

i wish tire manufacturers would be like Levi's and let us design our own tires. compound, treadwidth, aspect ratio, price.
245/40/15's anyone?

i have needed that size hoosier/kumho for years..... i would easily pay $300 a tire for that

15"s are the way to go
16" performance tires are becoming rare - you're better off with 17"s if you want decent selection.
