Default Civic Si vs. Integra LS

I have heard several things that the LS integra will run anywhere from a 16.1 to a 16.5 in the 1/4 mile. I am thinking about buying an 02 civic Si will I even notice a performance difference or am I just buying the same car with a different body? Thanks.

stock LS's are slow. EP3's may look slow but aren't that slow.

way punchier motor... if that is a not a word, the K series would coin it. The LS motor is not gonna out perform Si.

just find an Si you can test drive

I had an ls for 4 years, I loved that car dearly, but ya the ep is faster but not by that much. Great thing about an ls is slapping on a turbo with a stock bottom end and driving the **** outta it. VTek motors usually don't hold up quite as well

I've heard the ls motor is good to boost. why is this?

For starters, lower compression (you can run more boost) and slightly more displacement (no replacement for displacement).

Not true. Vtec motors respond very well to turbo. Vtec motors had better oil squirters on the bottom end that allowed better lubrication which = higher revs, more durability. Just keep the boost modest and you're good to go with stock bottom end.

LS were popular to turbo because of their longer gears, which allowed you to take advantage of the turbo when it kicked in. That and lower compression.

As for the EP3 vs LS, i'd go with the EP3. I personally like the way it looks, both exterior and interior. (Seats are great and the rest of the interior is pretty damn cool too.) Not to mention the EP3 chassis is several times more stiffer (I forgot the percentage, but from what i remember, it was pretty subtantial.) and race worthy when compared to the older DC2 chassis.

i have a 95 ls with light mods(i/h/e, plugs/wires) and i drive my ep3 much more. with just an intake my ep3 is noticeably quicker than my ls and much more fun to drive.

i have a 2004 ep3 and it kills the integra ls i think there is a big difference and the ep3 also has alot more potential than the integra ls.

Mod for mod (NA) or stock for stock, the ep3 will always probably be faster. Then there is the driver factor.

The Si is faster but not by alot. The differences in gear ratio plays a much bigger role in the rate of acceleration between the two.

an ep faster then an ls. just look at the horsepower difference. an stock ep is better compared to a stock gsr. 10 horsepower difference, but different gear ratios etc. make for a close race btw the two

GSR = mid 15s.
EP3 = mid high 15s.

With equal drivers the GSR will beat a EP3 but not much.
