Default Performance questions

I own a 96 se integra with a short ram intake, gutted cat, and a Skunk 2 exhaust, and have always thought that civics and integras were pretty even. My friend owns a 99 ex with headers, air intake, short shifter, gutted cat, and Apexi exhaust. We raced and it is pretty even until we hit 3rd and then I start to pull away bad. Is it that big of a difference between the integra and civic ex, or is one of our cars running exceptionally fast or really slow. thanks.

One important aspect is power to weight ratio. Although you have a better engine, the civic has a lighter body.

The civic is like 300 pounds lighter but it must just not be able to make up for that much less hp and torque.
