fog lights?
After struggling to see a few nights ago Ive been looking for a set of fog lights to put on my 95 lx. Im not completely sure on how fog lights work the best other than the yellow light. I have seen a nice set of PIAA's but like the stock fog lights, they are a bit on the expensive side. Would it be just as good if i went to a local pep boys or walmart, picked up basic fog lights and installed piaa ion yellows in it? Is there a certain shape or type of foglight that works better than others? Is a round one better than a rectangular shaped fog light? thanks in advance

I got mine through there. The APC ones. Though I'm not a fan of APC products I did get those and have been pleased with them. Been 2+ years now and hardly any problems. Occasionally I have to replace a lens but that's only about $10 through Honda and they match the OEM Honda fog lights perfectly. Decent price as well, especially compared to Honda fog lights.

MAn I would also like to know of some good foglights. I asked about some APC ones a while ago and like 2 people told me APC is crap then they deleted the thread I asked why they said because APC is crap and ricey. I just wanted to know of some good lights I didn't care if they were APC or not. I was just looking for some good fog lights and saw some APC ones at Autozone cheap. I am looking at more driving lights as I also want them when not if fog and most of the ones under $100 seem to say driving fog lights. Do they help in the fog? I'm looking at http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0...F1600
are these any good? My max is $100 to spend I would like to only spend $50 but I can get these and a few other Eurolite ones cheap through a family member that works at a local store that sells foglights but Crutchfield has these so I am using the link to there page so you can see the lights.

Yeah, the ones that i have seen have all been APC and that is why i am hesitant. The stock fog light fixture is a round shape correct? Ill have to check to see which ones the local stores have. Has the APC fogs helped a lot in the bad weather? I also want to inprove my rain driving visability too.
stay away from APC\Toucan\Eurolite at all costs.... those are just some of the biggest garbage made in taiwan crap companies out there.
look for some oem foglights for your particular vehicle and if you cant find them look for piaa\catz\raybrig fogs.....

People on other forums told me that any sealed light like those will be fine but sometimes the mounting brackets are flismy and they shake so they said make sure it has good mounting brackets but basically and light like that will work although some may be better than others. I don't like the look of the OEM ones and I really dislike the price of them. I may go with the Eurolites I posted but I'm not sure I'm ready to get any quite yet.

You could try going to http://www.handa-accessories.com and asking them if they carry OEM for a '95. It's possible, and if so it'll be at least 20% or 25% off of MSRP (they give the public a group "mechanic's" discount for online purchases).
Else, you could check junkyards to see if they have any crashed (hopefully not from the front) 5th generation accords with fog lights.

Ive previously owned 2 sets of Hella Optilux, IMO these perform considerably better than many other cheaply manufactured fog lights. 3 years with no cracked lenses, 1 bulb, and lots of high speed turns at night. Very Satisfied with there products. Hella is a well respected manufacturer. But the Optilux Brand is not there premium Lights they make. Merely the less expensive, but doesn't sacrifice quality IMO. Under your price range you wanted to stay in, I would look into these. If you want distance get driving lights, projector lenses perform very well. If you want for fog and wide beam pattern, I liked the rectangular shape. (On my 3000GT)
Great wide output. Those were the blue/yellow ion coated lenses.

make up your mind because you can only have one of these. a fog light pattern is very low, wide, short, and not too bright. a driving light pattern will be more like your low beams. some companies also make a pencil beam, which like its name implies is long and skinny, very focused.
if you want something good in fog AND good for everyday driving, then look for one of the dual beam light combos. like this one http://www.classicgarage.com/c....html

I am thinking if I turn just them on in the fog and not my headlights I Wouldnt see the beam of light as much since it would be lower and think it would help but I would use them for more light at night so I guess that would be what I would want.
Fog lights are meant to supplement the headlights. The light ouput covers the area directly in front of the car that the headlights don't. The only reason I got the APC one's were because I wanted the OEM look without the OEM Honda price. I've been perfectly satisfied. Any parts that would be needed can be obatined through Honda so I have no problem with them. The rest of the APC stuff though, that's another story.
Do you know what the Honda part number is for the lens? I'm looking for a replacement lens for a 95 EX with factory foglights, and the Honda dealers I've checked with say they can't get the lens by itself, I have to get the entire foglight assembly, $60+. I checked with one local Honda salvage yard, and they don't have anything with factory foglights. Are there any aftermarket lenses that will interchange with the Honda factory lights? Thanks for any help you can give.
I don't know the part number of the top of my head. I'll get back to you on that. But I can tell you I got two lenses from my local Honda dealer for about $10 a lens. They had to order it and I recieved it about 2 or 3 days later. I don't know why they say they can't find it. Sounds to me they are just trying to get you to spend as much money as you can for something you don't need.
I don't know about any of you guys but....All I did was run to walmart, and pick up a set of $45 fog lights that looked sturdy and had good brackets. I mounted them in the cowl and then trimmed out 2 ovals in the front grill mesh i put on. I've had them for about 3 months now and they are exactly what I wanted. It somewhat looks stock but very clean! I'll have to take some pics cuz I think this might be what you guys are looking for...
yeah pics would be really nice cause i was thinkin of doin the same thing. btw, should i be looking for a light with a yellow lens so that i put in a white bulb or do i want a clear lens with a yellow bulb? what works best in the harsh weather or does it not matter?

**** all the aftermarket, "I can go pick them up at pepboys", fogs. Jump on eBay and pick up a pair of JDM SiR foglights. I have a set and not only do they look good.... they work well and bolt right up to the existing mounts on your bumper so there's no adjusting.... they are made to work with your car
I kno exactly wut you mean.....I have a set of those ebay ones and i keep hesitating to put em on cuz I don't want to cut that piece off the bumper

at first i bout some $25 pilots from pep boys, i loved them, the only reason i replaced them was a rock broke the lense and i couldnt find replacements, now i have some catz multi directional fogs that are awesome, i got them for around $70 plus shipping off ebay, they have a 90 degree light, awesome for going around turns. they are almost as bright as my low beams but in certain places, i am really pleased. just my 2 cents.
