Default Accord Vibrating Noise

Hey everyone... I need some advice. I have a 96 accord, no mods. I dont know if anyone have this problem but when I step on a little gas up a hill, it has a weird vibrating noise. It sounds louder than normal and its a different noise during rpm around 2000-2500. Anyone have this problem and what are some solutions. Thanks in advance.

It's most likely the heat shield that runs along the stock exhaust system. Common problem, you can remove the shield if you want, If you get a new exhaust down the line it will have the shied on it anyhow. IT's more of a buzz than a rattle tho right?

yeah, its like a buzzing, annoying sound. What does the shield have to do with that sound because the exhaust is seperated from the shield right? would your recommend me to take it off? does the shield do anything?

If it is the same noise I had in my accord it can be fixed with whats called a Buzz Kit from Honda.

I have that same problem. I thought it was my ac, when I turn off the ac, and accelerate, no noise. I had my ac fixed by honda twice. Everyone asks me what is that noise, i just say "it is the intake" lol

See if you can get it to make the noise in neutral, and if you can, have someone sit in your car and rev the car to that RPM and use a piece of wood against the heat shield on the exhaust and see if that's the noise. Mine was that one of the mounts towards the catalytic converter had rusted thru. Once I got the new pipe it was fine. Funny but a LOT of accords make the noise and it's odd that the Honda Dealer wouldn't know what it was.

Does anyone know what is a "buzz kit"? How much does it cost? Im just thinking about taking the whole heat shield off. Do you think it will mess anything up?

Same here, but my buzzing sound comes on only when I'm in gear.. I don't think it's the heat shield, and when ppl ask, I tell them it's the exhaust.... hehee.... Damn it's so annoying, but mines are in a lower RPM, from around 1700-2200..

Everyone asks me what is that noise, i just say "it is the intake" lol
