got my car stolen on Sunday night, some advice
I came out of my house on moday morning to find my 1995 Acura Integra SE missing. It was parked in front of my house and then it was not. Well, the good thing is I did not have anything of high sentimental value in the car (just some CD's and other misc. things). Also I have theft coverage so that is good ( I shoulda sprang for rental insurance... damn hindsight's a bitch). Well let me give you the breakdown of the car: White 1995 Integra Special Edition, Auto Matic, Leather, stock rims, only like 77k miles total, clean title, etc. The car has been gone for three days now and no word from the police so it is starting to look like it will not be found whole (I live in San Diego, this seems to be a reality here). I know that if my insurance makes me an offer for my car, they get their value from the cars in the area. I searched the autotrader and there were no cars that compared to mine in condition, mileage, etc. the closest was a 96
GSR with 94k miles. The cost was 8400 or so. My question is... where should I be shooting as far as an offer? I have heard that it is common to reject the insurance's first offer because they tend to devalue it. Any advice? Thanks a lot.

Go to edmunds.com and kbb.com and other sources and try to find out what your car is worth. Print it out, and when insurance tells you their amount, compare it with your findings and then work from there.
Check http://www.nada.com to get an idea of what your car is actually worth, so you don't get blown up figures. And then come to truth about your findings if they are not what you expected. Sorry to hear. My '00 Si was jacked...
I miss that car now, and forever...along with the others of course.

update: they recovered the car today in Tecate mexico! I have to sign some power of attorney crap to get it over here. The insurance said that from the pics there is no seats or interior, wheels and tires, engine parts are gone, and the car was in an accident.
Damn, I don't want it back like this... i hope they declare it a total loss but I won't know for at least a week (getting the car from mexico is a whole process I guess).
