Default Best Brake setup!!!

My friend told me that i could put NSX front cals. with legend front discs for my 2000 gsr and have a killer brake system, but would it be easer/cheaper if i just went with a brembo front brake kit?

Hahaha, Brembo? Cheap?? What are you actually using these brakes for? If it's just daily driving, then just get brembo blanks with Hawk or Axis pads.

Your not going to see a huge difference in actual braking. You will however see a good difference in fade resistance. As above, it all depends on what you do with the car.

You could also use Legend front calipers instead of NSX calipers.

its a circuit/street car so i might be doing a lot of late braking is it sitll worth it to upgrade or just go cheap and get some crossed drilled rotors

I would recommend either the ITR 5-lug setup with some nice slotted rotors or x-drilled rotors that have the holes cast instead of drilled...more on this in a few.

Or you could just get some Brembo slotted or x-drilled rotors and some EBC, Hawk, Axxis, Endless pads, some Russel or Goodridge (?) stainless steel lines, and an ITR brake booster with master cylinder. This setup would be pretty solid for street/circuit conditions.

The NSX/Legend setup will be costly, and the NSX calipers weigh I believe 23lbs a piece...not light at all. The ITR 5-lug conversion could probably be had for the cost of this setup...maybe...I haven't researched the price differences. If you have 17" rims already, then you may want to think about a Brembo brake upgrade at least for the front (probably will cost about $1300). The rears see light use, and stock stuff would cut it for a good while, unless you are REALLY beating it.

As far as x-drilled's go, if you buy Powerstop or another brand that drills the holes in them after the casting process, this can cause stress risers from the gas being vented and heavy braking. I have been through 3 sets of PowerStops, and that was on an Accord that saw only street driving, albeit rough driving.

I have the AEM big rotor upgrade with Hawk pads, and I love it. Never had any brake fade at all. The only downside is you have to have at least 16" wheels. But I love these brakes. To me, they are way better than Brembo/Axxis. My friends faded after 2 runs down one road here. I had no problem at all.
