Default Painting spoiler help. help.

I am going to get a bottle of ppg mixed at a authorize ppg store. I have 3 question:
1) What color primer should I use( going to paint my spoiler Supersonic blue), red? black? grey?

2)the person told me if I want the best match, I will have to give them my color code and the VIN number because honda color varies even with the same code. Is that so?

and 3) any web site (team integra??) that give me step by step instruction to paint my wing?

thanks

I just painted my ITR spoiler about a month ago. I always just give the guy my color code and the paint matches perfect. I have never given anybody my VIN for paint and Ive painted allot of parts for people. Hoods, body kits etc... Also I always just use grey primer. Im not sure about any step-by-step instuctions though.

If you run into any problems pm me and ill see if I can help

i dont see why theyd need your VIN.....thats something i dont give out very easily...only time i've had to give that out is when i've wrecked a car and they use that to track the vehicle being wrecked and for parts........one time i didnt even go thru a body shop to get a car fixed and me and this guy i know replaced and painted the parts and no one needed the VIN.

color code will suffice. but their are color variations. so there is not just one "silver" but like 3 different silvers. so their code will be different. (dv-3va1) for one type and like (dv-3va2) or something of that sort, both silver, just a little different.

if ya didn't know...which you may, the color code is on the driver side door jam.

Just use Grey primer I think it would cover better than the red. Also, you can get a flex primer, which is alittle more expensive. However, I don't think you'll need it beacuse your not painting Polyurathane. Thats assuming that your spoiler is fiberglass. In which case you would be ok with out flex primer.

i'm going to have to agree w/gray primer, thats what most people use anyways .....a lot of it is personal pref too, but i think gray would also be good bc you'd be able to see the blue that you're painting better.
