Default what is your front camber reading?

I just installed my tokico illumina kit and energy suspension bushings on my 93lx a few days ago. I was just wondering if I even have to worry about a -1.6 and -1.5 front camber reading. I thinks specs are -1 to +1. Not sure if the springs will still settle and produce a even more negative camber.

The question is , what is your front camber reading and how is the tire wear?

One shop told me that if we get the rear right and rotate the tires regularly then it shouldn't be a problem but another shop recommends a camber kit by speciality products, dana, or ac delco much less than ingals. From what I've read here its really not necessary for a camber kit for such a mild drop, 1.25-1.5". what do you think?

thanks.

wow! so its that bad huh! Better get a camber kit then. But which one really works better? From what I've read so far the pivot joint kits make your upper arm stick out too much and the end hits the fenders on big dips and ball joint kits shorten your suspension travel but has less problems with the UCA hitting the inner fender. Maybe hitting wouldn't be much a probem with such a mild drop.

thanks!

yeah either way on my 6th gen it would hit... right now i have pivot ball and i actually had too cut away and push all that inner fenderwell metal for my camber kit to wrk properly at the ride height i want. i wish i hadent but i wanted it low.... 6th gens arent really made to be lower than 1.5 inches with camber kit..... peace

I've got -1.6 front, -1.0 back, had tires for 20,000 miles, about 40% tread left, little signs of wear on the inside.

I'd check out the toe before blaming everything on camber, it tends to eat tires way quicker, bad toe that is.

toe is what kills the tires.... it "scrubs" or "drags" the tire as you drive.
camber only causes an uneven wear on one side.

grodzman, we have pretty much the same readings but I'm definitely doing the washer trick to fix the rear camber.

All, thanks for the replies.

So if I fixed the rear camber and get it aligned (fix toe), it looks like the -1.5 and -1.6 camber in front will be acceptable. Is this right? Or should I just invest in a camber kit since my tires were almost $100 a piece.

If the answer is yes, I was leaning towards the SPC balljoints but not sure wether to get the chasistech upper control arm. Any inputs?

Check your camber in the rear, if you zero out your camber in the rear, or even make it a slight bit positive, and keep the front -1.5 or so, your handling will improve, with less understeer and more throttle-off oversteer. Also, since you will have a normal camber setting in the rear, if you keep rotating your tires, the wear will be perfectly fine.

Hell, I rotated my tires only once, and I still have plenty of tread.

i've got a 93lx so washers should work, in fact the alignement guy said that he can just place shims in there so I don't even have to replace the bolt since i'm just trying to correct from -1.0 on the left and from -.8 on the right.

I'm also going for the chassis tech UCA, hopefully this product will be less likely to hit the inner fender well like the BJ and anchor bolt products.

thanks for all your help guys!
