Ball bearings.. how do you know its bad?
The wheel bearings can get loose, then the wheel wobbles. But wobbling wheels can also be caused by loose ball joints.
The wheel bearings can also get tight, then they make grinding or growling noise. But brakes can make grinding noises too.
Either way, you may not know for sure until you take it apart...

Mine didn't rock back and fourth... but were still worn pretty bad.
There also was no growling sound but rather a loud humming noise. After a while, it actually became louder than my Greddy Evo exhaust. I just got my front drivers side wheel bearings replaced and it's all good now. I can hear my exhaust after 4 months of humming....
