Default 99 civic front bumper air ducts

ok, I posted yesterday about my buddy making j-s racing style air ducts for the 99-00 civics...well he started on the layout for the first one yesterday, about one or two more days of work left on it, once this one is made, he will be making a mold of it to hopefully be able to spit out some more.

the main base is fiberglass and the full vent itself is a little bigger than the oem foglights, and has a small rolled lip...once he finishes this one, we will slap it on my car and snap some shots...

would anyone else be interested in them? we're still thinking of a price to offer them at, and h-t members will get s discount

the main reason we're making this is b/c j's doesn't offer it for our car...heres a pic of it in production still, but very close to completion:

and afterwards, it will be wrapped in real carbon fiber, we'll get a mounted pic as soon as possible

wow, that is pretty cool... any idea how much he will be charging for them?? is he going to make them symmetrical so you can buy two and flip one over and use it on the other side.. ala brake ducts

That one just doesn't seem to flow all that well.

These look like they might look pretty decent. You should make one for 76-98's....I'd buy one.

Im interested in them... I have OEM Fogs and i dont use the foglights... basically use them as air ducts but these would definately look alot better... Another opinion on the duct is to make it more of a square shape instead of the round hole... might make it look more agressive. just my 2cents though

Cant you just cut out the grill and then put a duct on the inside of the bumper to the brakes work better than making those pieces for the front of the bumper? Or is this more of a cosmetic factor ?

IMO if the car was actually on a road course, it would be effective for the brakes, but for daily driving, you brakes shouldn't need it and if they do, then darwin's gona visit your ***. As For useing this as an air intake duct, i think its kinda stupid, your motor doesn't NEED any help getting air, just make sure the air it is getting is fresh. IE run a CAI or ICEbox/mugen setup, and get fresh air from that area behind the bumber and if front of the wheel.

SO ya i guees its really just a cosmetic factor

sorry for the lack of responses on my part, i've been really busy at work, some people want them, some people don't, you can use them for function or for asthetics in my opinion, but the first prototype is finished, now hes just trying to get his hands on some carbon fiber, they will probably sell for about 100 dollars shipped, which considering the price of the same thing from j's racing, I think its a pretty good deal, and these will be100% real carbon fiber, once the first carbon fiber peice is made, i will deffinitly post up some installed pics

youd have to run dryer venting from the vent to the whole in the frame from the stock intake right under the intake for it work good....i did that on my old 96-98 front bumper, looked pretty badass and there was a noticable peppiness on the highway when your haulin ***..
