Do you listen to headphones while you ride?
First off, I'd actually want to know if it's legal to even wear headphones while riding a bike. Sometimes it gets monotonous on the road listening to the wind. I just want to see how many people wear headphones while riding on a daily basis.

i wear earplugs whenever i get on the freeway or do any kind of canyon or track ride. I am thinking about installing speakers inside my helmet and getting the 1Gb minidisc players. I will probably need an extra amp to pump the volume to a level that would be loud enough to hear over the wind noise without getting all distorted.
And no i don't think that it is legal to wear them while riding. It isn't legal to wear them when you are driving your car either. I don't understand why though...it isn't illegal for deaf people to operate motorvehicles is it?

haha, I've never thought of it that way. I could bring that up in court if I ever do get a ticket for it though.

Regardless if it was legal or not, I still would choose not to wear them.
Being exposed on a motorbike is dangerous already. Music can be distracting while trying to make quick and precise decisions.
I just don't like to get hurt so the more advantages I have, I'd like to keep it on my side.

I personally think that the sound from my Yoshimura RS5 exhaust is music to my ears. I don't need no stinkin' headphones. I also get a nice vibration from exhaust!

Ear plugs are legal in CA. i think that chatterboxes are actually illegal tho, but not too much enforcement on that law.

95% earplugs
5% boring road trips: in-ear headphones (not earbuds, they suck)
i rarely use anything when riding the SV, no fairing = almost NO wind noise, but now its too cold not to ride without a fairing.

WTF do you all use earplugs for? It's illegal to ride in a car with earphones, so a bike would be no exception, unless you're only using 1 ear. That's how I listen, when I do, which is not often.
