Default So crazy it just may work (making steelies look cool)

Ok I am gettin ready to put the steelies on for winter....

Why do steelies have to look bad? They are made of steel, right so grinding the metal down would expose shiny metal right?

here is my idea, lemme kno if you think it will work:

Polish steelies lip, paint steelies black(excluding lip), clearcoat.

If the polished lip idea work i think they would look pretty sweet (for steelies).

Opinions?

nah man i ment that as a joke sorry , i'd prolly use a dremel with a buffing/scouring pad (the softer kind). i think sand paper would be too rough

Its going to be hard to get into all the cracks with the tools you have around the house. You might have to get them sand blasted to get all the black off them for the polished lip.

Do it and post pics though.

yeah ive thought about a powder coat, maybe for the black part. But I really think a polished lip, if possible, would almost give the steelies a rim-look make me proud to sport'em during winter

Why couldn't you just put chrome trim rings on them? It would give the same look.

I was just gonna sat the sa,e thing. You can get "beauty rings" that snap on the wheel just like a wheel cover would that will give you the exact same look you want without all the work and wonder. I was gonna suggest also that older hondas that came with steelies had a small polished "H" center cap the snaps into the steel wheel. might look kinda coool also.
