Default head gasket

do i need to resurface my head when i change the head gasket or can i just replace it and put the head back on?

i would probably just put it back together if it didnt have any serious problems. but if you dont mind spending the lil extra have it checked out and go from there

id at least clean the surface real good... and top it off with liquid gasket... i did that for a water pump idk if its the same concept.

no, you dont use liquid gasket on a head gasket if your going to use anything use the copper spray on the head gasket
